He started in journalism at PH Energy Analysis (now ICIS Heren) in 1995, shortly before the UK devised the National Balancing Point -- Europe's first gas hub. His subsequent career has included senior management and editorial positions at FT Energy, Petroleum Economist, Argus Media and Platts, where he latterly edited International Gas Report. His focus has been on regional markets and how they function. William also speaks Russian and has had several literary/academic translations published.
Joseph Murphy

Joseph has been reporting on energy markets in the former Soviet Union and Europe for seven years. During that time he has served as editor of two Moscow-based publications covering oil and gas and coal and electricity in the CIS and CEE regions. He has also written research reports on oil and gas in the Caspian Sea region, Kazakhstan and Eastern Siberia.

Dale has been covering the Canadian oil and gas industry for more than 35 years, starting out as an associate editor of Oilweek, Canada’s leading oil and gas news magazine, in 1981, as the industry was being pummelled by the hated National Energy Program. In 1984, he joined the staff of the Daily Oil Bulletin, the country’s leading daily oil and gas industry news service, serving in various editorial capacities, including associate editor. In 2000, he re-joined Oilweek, now a monthly publication, as news and statistics editor, before being named editor of the publication in 2007, a position he held for the next nine years.

editor of the company's flagship analytical newsletter Energy Economist.
He was formerly Platts crude oil manager EMEA and also worked on
upstream publication North Sea Letter. Ross has written extensively on
oil, gas and power markets, with a particular interest in long-term
energy forecasts, new technologies and China. He graduated with an MSc
from the London School of Economics in 1993 and from the University of
East Anglia with a BA Hons in 1991.

Ilham Shaban is NGW's expert on the Caspian region. He graduated from Azerbaijan's Oil University as Automatic-Engineer specialist. Then, he worked for three years at state-run oil and gas company Socar. He started his activity as a journalist in the oil and gas sector in 1997 at Turan Information Agency. He was a special reporter in Azerbaijan for Interfax-Agency on oil Information between 1999-2008. In 2003 he established the Center for Oil Studies – Caspian Barrel and has been managing it till today. He is an active participant and speaker at international conferences about Caspian Oil and Gas Industry. He speaks Azerbaijani, Russian and Turkish.
